Healthy Mouth Cleaning vs. Gross Debridement

At Dentique Dental, we value your time, and we try to do the cleaning on the same day of the exam. The hygienist will do a periodontal charting, and they will call out a series of 6 per tooth. If your results include measurements of under 3 mm and no generalized bleeding, you are a candidate for a healthy mouth cleaning.

However, if you have generalized bleeding, infected/inflamed gums, a heavy amount of calculus, buildup, or heavy staining, you will need Gross Debridement or a more detailed Scaling and Root Planing. In either case, then a second appointment will be scheduled.

Making an Emergency Visit

For the emergency patient, your main complaint is addressed first, then we will schedule a comprehensive exam.
